Hi! Often all it takes is a damp cloth to collect dust and clean your solid wood! But there's also no harm in adding a bit of mild soap or detergent if it helps clean the woodgrain.

And here I thought that the heart of Amish country was in Lancaster PA down the road from me. How do Amish use camcorders and the Internet to post these videos? This just seems like someone putting "Amish" into the name so they can capitalize on Amish mystique. I also see pocket screws, which are nowhere in the traditional Amish lexicon of joinery. @@Dutchcrafters

Our owners and employees aren't Amish. (Our CEO and co-owner is Mennonite, however, and grew up near Amish communities in Northern Indiana, one of the largest Amish communities in the country--along with Lancaster.) We work with over 100 Amish wood shops to sell their furniture online and in our stores! The vast majority of the shops we work with produce only hardwood furniture, but this woodworker (and a few others) found that there's a market interested in buying pine wood furniture produced at a lower price point for items like this popular tilt-out trash bin cabinet. When I think 'Amish', I assume traditional woodworking joinery such as dovetail, half lap, box joint, or pinned mortise and tenon. The fact that you're selling 'Amish' furniture that uses pocket screws tells me that this is not a traditional Amish piece of furniture at all. What's next, an Amish particle board and plastic hutch? 'Well, the fabrication plant in China keeps an Amish boy on staff....therefore, we can say this is Amish plastic...' I know what you're selling, but I ain't buyin it.@@Dutchcrafters
